Hudson Reed

Founded in 1982, Ultra Finishing started life as a plating service, operating out of a former air-raid shelter. Today it is one of the world’s most respected manufacturers and distributors of bathrooms, operating out of its own headquarters in Lancashire, and has a modern distribution centre, which employs over 150 people. Its product range stretches from finishing touches, such as taps and mirrors, right up to major bathroom appliances such as baths and showers.

Even though Hudson Reed has massively expanded its offering since those early days, its commitment to quality remains exactly the same, which is why it offers a 20-year guarantee on all its products (unless otherwise stated).

Hudson Reed is probably best known for its Valquest technology and its Pearlstone shower trays. The former has become a key safety feature since it ensures that Hudson Reed showers maintain a constant temperature and hence safeguards against both scalding and users being drenched in cold water. This is particularly important given the power of some of the showers on the market today. Both of these are made in the UK and Hudson Reed is committed to supporting the “Made in Britain” scheme.

In addition to setting the highest standards in manufacturing, Hudson Reed also demonstrates the highest standards with regard to the environment and as an employer. For example, Hudson Reed has created a range of eco-friendly products, which are offered at affordable prices to show that environmentally-friendly options can also be economical ones. It aims to minimize the amount of waste it produces and recycles as much as possible. Hudson Reed also strives to be a “best-in-breed” employer and does everything it can to encourage staff development both inside and outside the workplace, providing funding and training to support its employees on their path to personal and professional growth. The company is also known for their charitable endeavours and, in particular, for its support of local charities.
